Privacy policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Rebels — The Grappling Club collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Rebels — The Grappling Club is run by Rebels Grappling Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17428935), registered office 21 Stride Avenue, Portsmouth PO3 6HN. We're the data controller for the information described here. For anything about your data, email info@rebelsgrapplingclub.com.
What we collect and why
When you get in touch
If you email, call or message us, we keep your name, contact details and what you tell us so we can reply. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
When you book a trial or become a member
We use Mat Track to run memberships, bookings and check-ins. When you sign up we collect your name, contact details, date of birth, emergency contact and membership details, and we record the classes you attend and your belt progress. We need this to provide your membership, so we rely on our contract with you.
Health information
Our waiver and health declaration ask about injuries and medical conditions so our coaches can keep you safe on the mats. Health information is special category data, and we only collect it with your explicit consent, which you give when you complete the declaration. You can withdraw consent at any time, but we may not be able to let you train safely without it.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe and Direct Debits by GoCardless. They collect your payment details directly; we never see your full card or bank details. We see whether a payment has been made, and we keep payment records because the law requires us to.
Children
For members under 18, a parent or guardian gives us the child's details, completes the waiver and health declaration, and is our main contact.
News and offers
We'll only send you marketing emails or texts if you've agreed to them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message or by emailing info@rebelsgrapplingclub.com. Messages about your membership, like payment reminders or timetable changes, aren't marketing.
